FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions About the Florida Real Estate Exam

When can I actually start practicing real estate?2026-03-04T21:45:20+00:00

Your license is officially active once you pass the state exam and are “activated” by a licensed Florida broker. Your status will show as “Inactive” until your broker submits the necessary paperwork to the DBPR to link your license to their firm.

How do I schedule my fingerprints?2026-03-04T21:44:56+00:00

You must submit your fingerprints electronically through a Florida-approved vendor before your license application can be processed. We recommend doing this as soon as you start your course to avoid delays in your state application approval.

What is the “Mutual Recognition” agreement?2026-03-04T21:44:32+00:00

Florida has mutual recognition agreements with several states (including Alabama, Georgia, and others). If you hold an active license in one of these states, you may be exempt from the 63-hour pre-licensing course and only be required to pass a 40-question Florida laws exam.

What happens if I fail the course final exam?2026-03-04T21:43:55+00:00

Don’t worry it happens. If you do not pass our course final exam on the first try, Florida law requires a 30-day waiting period before you can take an alternate version of the final exam. We provide the support and resources needed to help you succeed on your second attempt.

How long is the 63-hour course certificate valid?2026-03-04T21:43:30+00:00

Once you successfully complete your pre-licensing course, your certificate of completion is valid for two years. You must pass the Florida state exam within this timeframe, or you will be required to retake the pre-licensing course.

How much does it cost to get my Florida Real Estate License?2026-03-04T21:42:58+00:00

While our course fees cover your education, you should also budget for state-related costs. This includes the DBPR application fee (approximately $80), electronic fingerprinting (approximately $50–$80), and the Pearson VUE exam fee (approximately $37).
